L3Harris Sets Sustainability Goals for 2030

L3Harris Technologies has unveiled new sustainability goals that underscore its dedication to environmental stewardship. By 2030, L3Harris aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 60%, reduce water use by 20%, and lower solid waste by 10%. The company is also committed to sourcing 40% of its total electricity from renewable sources.

“L3Harris remains dedicated to upholding environmentally conscious practices, and we are committed to meeting our new goals in support of a more sustainable future,” stated Christopher E. Kubasik, Chair and CEO of L3Harris. “These efforts have a direct impact on our business operations by reducing production costs, promoting energy efficiency, creating business resiliency, and driving innovation.”

L3Harris surpassed its previous targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and water use three years ahead of schedule through strategic and innovative investments. Building on this success, the company has set new objectives to decrease solid waste and increase the proportion of renewable energy in its total electricity use. These 2030 goals will be measured against a performance baseline established in 2021.

The company’s Board of Directors supervises its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, emphasizing continuous improvement in various areas and priorities. L3Harris’s environmental sustainability strategy is informed by benchmarking, data capture, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and other relevant sources, with detailed metrics to track progress and success.
